Pizzaz Italian Restaurant
A Proud Family Legacy Since 1968
In 1968, Jerry and Dorene Berteotti opened the doors of The Old Southern Pancake House & Saloon—a 24 hour family-owned spot that combined pancakes and live music to become a South Hills landmark. Over the years, the Berteotti's shifted their focus to include their Italian heritage while trying to keep what made "The Cake House" successful. Pizzaz Italian restaurant was opened in the early 80s featuring a full menu of Italian favorites.
From the very beginning, the restaurant has been more than just a place to eat. Generations from all walks of life have created memories in your favorite family restaurant and neighborhood bar.
For Jerry Jr., who took over in 2001 after his father's passing, this is more than just a business. He still feels like he’s working for his dad, striving to honor his legacy by running the restaurant with the same integrity, passion, and care his parents instilled in him.
Pizzaz proudly serves classic Italian favorites made from scratch—homemade sauces, hand-tossed dough, hearty hoagies, strombolis, and calzones that have earned their place in the hearts of our guests.
Whether you’ve been dining with us for decades or it’s your first time, we’re always happy to welcome you. Salute!
